Lack of clean water has severe effects on students’ academic performance and attendance rates. Students miss our outreach programs to fetch water. For girls, the situation is especially troublesome. If schools do not have proper toilets, girls drop out once they reach puberty. Further, it is typically the responsibility of the women to fetch water, thus limiting their access to education. They walk over 4 miles away from their homes to look for water, and Others have sex for favors of getting assistance to carry water from men in the community.
Our goal is to provide clean and safe water to 100,000 families each year Starting with Mihuru bay, a village in Migori county Kenya.
The Clean Water Project is working to the break cycle of poverty and violence against girls and women. Will you support us?
