Who we are

We are a survivor-led program, and we work with African women and girls who have experienced sexual violence, offering safe housing, trauma-informed education, healing through movement, and economic empowerment.

Rooted in community and culture, our work breaks cycles of violence and builds lasting change.

We believe survivors have the potential to become influential leaders in their communities. Our work helps survivors heal, reclaim their dignity, and lead change.

Our Approach

We Rescue

Identifying and supporting survivors of sexual violence and human trafficking, with a focus on African women and girls, by providing safe housing and emergency interventions.

We Restore

Offering holistic support services that address the long-term effects of trauma, including mental health care, economic empowerment, and community-based support groups.

We Educate

Collaborating with communities to challenge harmful beliefs, empower advocates for change, provide skills training, raise awareness, and advocate for policy reforms that protect and uplift African women and girls.

WHY SEXUAL VIOLENCE?

We understand Sexual violence includes Rape, Child sexual abuse, Sexual assault, Sex trafficking and exploitation, forced marriages, domestic servitude and Female genital mutilation (FGM).

1 in 3 girls become victims of sexual violence before their 18th birthday.

1 in every 5 girls has had a live birth, or they are pregnant with their first child.

40% of the girls drop out of the school year due to pregnancy. Most unlikely to return, affecting long-term educational, economic, and health outcomes.

44% of African women, or more than two in five, have been subjected to forms of sexual violence.

86% of our survivor support goes to young women, mostly abused as teenagers.
