Since Wounded Healers was founded in 2018, we have witnessed numerous stories of transformation among women and girls, especially those who have survived sexual violence. By providing education and empowerment, we have seen many people thrive.
We now understand clearly that changing one's mindset is crucial for new habits and skills to stick. It all starts with becoming more mindful and self-aware and understanding the connection between our body and mind.
In the years we have worked, we have realized that many people, especially women in our community, lack the opportunity to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and focus on their health goals.
We are beginning a new chapter focused on building and developing a community model for women and girls to get away, heal, be inspired, and be motivated: a peaceful space for local and foreign women to process their thoughts, have fun in a magical nature, learn new self-care and wellness practices to take home and use in their daily lives, and meet other like-minded women to share in this beautiful experience.
It will allow them to spend more time in places of well-being and less stress, sickness, unhappiness, and worry.
Our dream is to Build a City of Peace Village in Kenya, a perfect happiness retreat place where women worldwide can come and motivate one another in a serene environment.
The new Center will have more space for women and girls fleeing sexual violence. It will also include a retreat and wellness center and an empowerment center. Additionally, boreholes will be installed to ensure a continuous clean water supply.
A place to nourish our being and feed our souls
A place to breathe
A Place to Grow
A place to think
A place to just be
A place of peace
A place to find Joy
A place to find your story
A bigger, safer home for women and girls escaping sexual and domestic violence. We, the center, will offer a warm and peaceful environment, allowing them to heal, create stability, and be empowered through a wide variety of counseling, case management, and educational opportunities.
The center will provide lodgings for guests from all over the world who wish to experience spiritual, personal, and/or professional growth in a tranquil and natural setting. The funds generated through the lodge will support the Women's Rescue Center.
We will expand the space for empowerment to accommodate more skills training for the women at the shelter and the youths in the community. We will organize different workshops where the youths will be allowed to learn and make an impact in their lives and the community.
In our next chapter, we are looking forward to connecting and partnering with individuals, professionals, and groups who share our vision of creating a new community model that prioritizes the well-being of individuals, families, and the surrounding area.
